Bono's daughter is the most searched for Irish actress in the world

U2 star Bono’s daughter has almost overnight become the most searched for Irish actress online.

Talented Eve Hewson is set to see her star rise worldwide after bagging a major role in TV series The Knick.

Now Eve – who stars alongside Clive Owen in the show – has become the most-searched for Irish actress on IMDB.

And the 23-year-old is the third most popular Irish actress overall on the website, which has 190 million monthly users.

She is just behind Saoirse Ronan and Game of Thrones’ Michelle Fairley, but ahead of Harry Potter’s Evanna Lynch.

IMDB Managing Editor Keith Simanton said the reason for her surge was partly due to huge interest in The Knick, which is set in a 1900s hospital.

“There is a lot of buzz around The Knick. The show has already been renewed for a second season by Cinemax without even having debuted here in the States,” he said.

“There is also the fact that she’s Bono’s daughter, so people looking up the famous U2 frontman may also find her page from his.”

He also told the Sunday World that her role alongside the late Sopranos actor James Gandolfini would have aided her rise.
