Love Island’s Samantha Kenny has fought back tears as she admits Joey Essex “hurt her.”
The beautician was brutally dumped from the ITV reality show on June 18 after TOWIE star, Joey, recoupled with his ex Grace Jackson.
The makeup artist had been coupled up with Joey Essex, but their romance hit the rocks when his former flame entered the villa as a bombshell.
The exes wasted no time in rekindling their romance as Grace invited Joey to join her in Casa Amor for a “sleepover”, leaving Samantha heartbroken.
In upsetting scenes, Samantha threatened to walk out of the villa as Joey and Grace returned from Casa Amor and kissed in front of her and the rest of the Islanders.
In an appearance on the Reality with Will Njobvu Podcast on Wednesday, Samantha put on a brave face as she talked about her brief romance on the show.
During the episode, host Will asked Samantha if she had watched the scenes where Joey was in the hideaway retreat with love rival Grace.
Samantha responded: “She got everything that I wanted in 24 hours and I got nothing in two weeks.”
The beautician said it was “hurtful” before beginning: “I feel like…” and then began to fight back tears.
“I nearly got all emotional I don’t know why. Why am I crying? Why have I just got upset,” she said as she turned away from the cameras.
Will asked if the reality star would like to take a moment to compose herself but she assured him that she was okay.
After explaining how she wanted to build a connection with someone on the show, Samantha continued: “I just feel like what even were those two weeks? When I sit and think about it, what was going on in his head?”
It comes just after Samantha’s mother Lynne publicly shamed Joey after he “ruined” the Liverpool native’s time in the villa.
After ITV posted a snap of Joey looking dejected by the firepit on the show’s Instagram, Lynne commented on the post: “You ruined my daughters 2weeks in the villa [heartbroken emoji]”
