Taoiseach Simon Harris jokes he ‘has a bone to pick’ with Taylor Swift as she lands in Dublin

Taoiseach Simon Harris has joked he “has a bone to pick” with Taylor Swift.

The pop megastar landed in Dublin ahead of three sold-out shows in the Aviva stadium as part of her record-breaking Eras Tour.

Speaking to the press, the Taoiseach commented on the singer’s arrival in Ireland.

The 37-year-old joked: “Well, I have a bone to pick with Taylor Swift actually.”

“We’re delighted to have her here in Ireland but she did take a pebble from the beach in Greystones – she sings about it in Sweet Nothing.”

“Greystones being my home town, I’m very pleased that Taylor enjoys Wicklow.”

“She does ponder in the song, does the pebble ever miss Wicklow and sure everyone would miss Wicklow wouldn’t they.”

He continued: “She’s very welcome back to County Wicklow anytime.”

“I’m not sure she’ll have time to visit it this time but she’s very welcome.”

“I’d be delighted to tour her the location of many more pebbles that we have in the beautiful town of Greystones.”

“On a serious note, while I won’t be going, I don’t have ticket, I am really conscious that its a moment of great excitement for many, many, many people right across our country.”

The Taylor Swift concert is one of many major events happening in Dublin this weekend.

Simon admitted: “I actually think this is going to be a great weekend for our capital city between the GAA matches, between Longitude in Marley park and Shania Twain out in Malahide, obviously Taylor Swift and Pride tomorrow.”

“There’s a lot of really exciting events happening and I’m hoping that it’s going to be a really good weekend that people can enjoy, can celebrate and of course can stay safe as well.”

“So I hope people have a really good weekend,” he added.
