Irish designer creates special gift to be given to Taylor Swift ahead of her Dublin concerts

Irish designer Gabrielle Malone has created a special gift which is set to be given to Taylor Swift ahead of her Dublin concerts.

The designer collaborated with Fáilte Ireland to create a cardigan for the singer, which references her previous visits to the country.

The cardigan will be waiting for the songstress as she arrives at the Aviva Stadium ahead of her three sold-out shows.

Taylor is set to land in Dublin following sold-out gigs across the UK and Europe as part of her record-breaking Eras Tour.

The cardigan, made by Gabrielle and designed by Fáilte Ireland, references the Wild Atlantic Way by a wave and shows a connection to Ireland with shamrocks on the sleeves.

Personalised to Taylor, it includes her birth year, 1989, and her initials stitched onto it.

Faílte Ireland’s Emma Woods said: “We are delighted to welcome Taylor Swift back to Ireland.”

“Over the years, she has been a frequent visitor here – her love for Ireland translates into her music with subtle nods to places she’s visited woven through her lyrics.”

“This inspired us to work with Gabrielle Malone, an incredible young designer, to create this cardigan for Taylor that is representative of Ireland.”

“For all the Swifties out there, we have curated a list of Taylor-inspired stays around Ireland for you to visit”

“Not only that, but we have also released the knitting pattern for anyone who wants to try their hand at creating their own version of our Taylor cardie – visit DiscoverIreland.ie.”

The website includes a link for Swifties who love to knit, so they can download the pattern and create their own Irish Taylor cardigan.

Discover Ireland also curated a list of places to follow in the songstress’ footsteps here in Ireland – including Ballymastocker Bay in Portsalon, Donegal, Wicklow and Glin.

Taylor is set to play three sold-out concerts on Friday 28th, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June in the Aviva Stadium.

The three-hour-long show is expected to see 60,000 people in attendance each night.
