Louise McSharry has admitted that she’s “still in total denial” over her pregnancy.
The 2FM star announced that she was expecting her first child with long-term partner Gordon Spierin last month, admitting that she had “beaten the odds” and fell pregnant after battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for nearly a year.
“I’m still in total denial, like absolute denial,” she told Goss.ie.

“I don’t know when it’s going to sink in, you know, I think when you’re not really sure if it’s going to be easy for you to get pregnant, and I think maybe even if it is easy, I don’t know, you probably don’t really want to get too excited in case something goes wrong.
“And you’re kind of very careful, but hopefully one of these days it’s gonna hit me because I need to like start preparing because the likelihood is there will be an actual baby,” she laughed.
Louise revealed that her bundle of joy is due in September, and admitted that they just hope for a healthy baby, although there’s a tiny bit of her that would love to have a little girl.
“I mean, I know everybody says I just want a healthy baby, but genuinely we just want a healthy baby, we really do and I mean obviously there’s a tiny bit of me that would love a girl, and I think there’s a tiny bit of my husband that would love a boy.
“But you know we will just be so happy if it all works out for the best,” she said.
The radio host also admitted that luckily she hasn’t been suffering with any morning sickness – but has been feeling the tiredness.
“I’ve been really lucky I haven’t had any hardcore sickness or anything, so I’m counting my lucky stars there.
“I’m just tired really, but yeah it’s great and I’m delighted,” she added.
