Capital radio host Roman Kemp is “set to leave the iconic breakfast show” as Jordan North has been rumoured to replace him.

Jordan North announced his exit from BBC 1 today after joining the Radio 1 drive-time show in 2021.

Former Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing will take over the huge radio gig with BBC Radio 1.

He announced the news on Instagram and wrote: “Well this is big news…. 👀”

“@bbcradio1 have for some reason trusted me to co-host the Drive Time slot with @vicknhope. This is a very proud moment!!”

“Don’t really know what to say apart from, thank you and mum I’ve made it…. What possibly could go wrong 🙌”

Jamie will co-host Going Home with Vick from 3:30pm to 6pm, Monday to Thursdays.

Jamie’s friends were quick to congratulate the star in the comments.

Former Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse wrote: “Jamieeeeeee so happy for you friend ❤❤❤ congratulations 🥂”

Oliver Proudlock said: “My boy. So incredibly proud of you. YEAH BABY! ❤️‍🔥”

The former I’m A Celeb campmate has not revealed what his future career plans are yet, but fans are convinced he is going to join Capital Radio.

A source told The Sun: “Jordan is moving to Capital FM to replace Roman and he could not be more excited.”

“It is absolutely huge for him and although it’s hard to leave the BBC he is excited to get started on Capital.”

The source added: “Jordan’s decision has been a hard pill to swallow for the BBC but there was nothing they could do to change his mind.”

Roman Kemp was first reported to be leaving Capital radio back in October last year.

The 31-year-old has hosted the channel’s breakfast show for the last seven years alongside Chris Stark and Siân Welby.
