Scottish singer Daniel Rooney has revealed he’s “still on a high” after “saving the day” at Take That’s gig in Glasgow on Friday night.
The musician stepped in to replace the band’s support act Olly Murs with just 30 minutes notice, after he was spotted performing at a nearby hotel bar.
Olly was forced to pull out of the show last minute due to a flight delay, meaning Take That were left with no opening act.

When news broke that Olly couldn’t make the show, Scottish presenter Ross King had been watching Daniel perform at the Radisson Hotel bar opposite the arena.
Impressed by his singing talents, Ross called up his pal Gary Barlow and recommended that he fill Olly’s slot.
Within 30 minutes, Daniel was whisked over to the OVO Hydro arena, and found himself singing to 14,000 fans on stage.
In a post shared on Instagram, the young musician said: “Hardly slept, still on a high from last night. Thanks to everyones lovely messages about the gig and all the support so far.”
He also thanked King for spotting him at the hotel bar, and said it was the “craziest 30 minutes ever.”
Daniel added: “Also a big thanks to the @takethat lads for calming me down before the show and talking setlist tunes. Absolute legends.”
In a post shared on his own Instagram account, Gary thanked Daniel for stepping in so last minute, and said: “This young man saved the day thank you @danielrooney_music ❤️.”
