Ryan Thomas has reportedly turned down the chance to appear on the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.

According to The Sun, show bosses were keen to book the former Coronation Street star, but the 36-year-old declined their offer.

Insiders have claimed Ryan doesn’t want to leave his fiancée Lucy Mecklenburgh, and their son Roman – who they welcomed in March.

A source said: “Ryan doesn’t want to leave Lucy or the baby to work long hours on the show.”

“Strictly bosses were hopeful he could be their big signing, but he doesn’t need the money.”

BBC bosses are reportedly struggling to secure celebs for this year’s series.

Michelle Keegan and Jessie J have both turned down Strictly, and former Eastenders star Tamsin Outhwaite has allegedly decided to sign up for ITV’s I’m A Celebrity instead of the BBC’s dance competition.
