Bear Grylls: ‘I gave Courteney Cox the full experience in Ireland’

Bear Grylls has admitted that he gave Courteney Cox the full Running Wild experience while they were in Ireland.

The Friends star joined the adventurer tackling the cliffs on the west coast of Ireland for his show – and she quickly understood the changeable Irish weather.

“She got the full experience,” he said.

The actress was shocked to discover how crazy our country’s rain can be.

“We took Courteney to the west coast of Ireland – biggest sea cliffs in Europe,” he told Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show.

“She said to me afterwards, ‘Bear I had no idea that rain could go vertically upwards.’

“I said ‘Welcome to Ireland – all four season in one afternoon.’

Bear also admitted that while he has a great time on the show, sometimes it’s not so wonderful – like when Spice Girl Mel B had to pee on Bear’s hand after he got stung by a jelly fish.

“Not all experiences on Running Wild are positive ones,” he continued

“People think it’s an old wives tale but it’s been scientifically proven that urinating doesn’t help neutralise the sting but what it does do is it stops the tentacles to continue to sting.

“When you get hit by one it will leave a trace of it and continue firing.

“It wasn’t the miracle cure I hoped it would be!”
