Rihanna was honoured in the most extravagant way at the Met Gala on Monday night, despite the fact that she wasn’t even there.
The star-studded event honoured the Costume Institute’s exhibition on American fashion, In America: An Anthology Of Fashion, and the dress code on the night was “gilded glamour”.
Rihanna has been attending the Met Gala for years, and was previously a co-chair of the event with Vogue’s Anna Wintour.
However, the 34-year-old couldn’t make this year’s Met Gala as she’s due to give birth any day now.
The songstress is currently expecting her first child with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky.
Although Rihanna wasn’t present at the Met on Monday, the mum-to-be was honoured with a marble statue of her posing naked inside the exhibition.
Sharing a video of the statue on Instagram, Rihanna wrote: “shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol!”
