Una Foden gets to work on debut solo album and admits it will be VERY different from The Saturdays

Una Foden has revealed she would love to record her own solo album – and it will be  a lot different to The Saturdays music.

The Tipperary beauty is currently taking a break from her girl band duties – the five piece have not released a single since last Summer.

Having announced they won’t be recording any new material together again until 2016 – the time is right for Una to focus on her solo career.

Solo: Una is working on her solo album

“I’ve always been a singer songwriter and I have been doing a good bit of writing lately,” she said.

The TV star is working on her own “country pop” songs that will be distinctively different from the dance tunes of The Saturdays.

“I have always wanted to do my own original music, that’s the dream. My own style would probably be more country pop, sort of acoustic, a bit different to The Saturdays,” she told The Sun.

Change: Una’s solo sound will be very different to The Saturdays

The mum-of-two is the favourite to win this years series of The Voice with her remaining act Patrick Donoghue and admitted herself and the other Saturdays girls just want to do their own thing for now.

“We are all just taking a bit of time for ourselves at the moment. Rochelle is doing a lot of TV, Mollie is doing her fashion thing and I’m doing The Voice.”
