Emmett J. Scanlan has left fans in tears with a heartwarming video of the moment he surprised his sister, who recently fell ill.
The Irish actor, known for his role as Jimmy Kinsella in RTE’s hit drama Kin, travelled to Switzerland to reunite with his beloved sibling over the weekend.
Emmett confessed his sister had been going through a “hard time” as of late, and said he was sorry he didn’t fly over to visit her sooner.
Emmett captioned the tear-jerking post: “I haven’t been to my sister’s house in Switzerland in years. None of the Scanlan’s have.”
“With various viruses, chockablock schedules & world lockdowns there never felt time.”
“Despite this litany of excuses she somehow always made time to fly over to us.
Such is her soul.”
He continued, explaining the reason for the visit: “My sister has had a hard time recently. Something happened to her that scared the shit out of me and I don’t scare easily.”
“So with 2 days off in between gigs I booked a flight to Zurich to surprise her.”
“And for 2 f**kin days we talked, we belly laughed & when the dust settled we sat in wonderful silence together.”
He apologised for not visiting sooner and said: “I’m just sorry it took me for her falling ill to fly over. Never again.”
“So here’s to bear hugging the shit out of our loved ones now & not tomorrow. ✌🏻& ❤️,” the actor added.
In the video, Emmett showed the moment he walked into his sister’s bedroom to surprise her as he went over to hug her.
Fans were touched by the emotional clip and commented on the post wishing his sister well.
