Ray D’Arcy is set to host a new Saturday Night Show on RTE – and it will be similar to Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Take Away.
The former Today FM presenter will be taking over Brendan O’Connor’s chat show The Saturday Night Show, with a brand new variety show, starting in 2015.
The new series will begin in Autumn, with Brendan’s show being completely scrapped.

“Everyone loves Ray on screen and once they had signed him they had great ideas for him,” a TV insider said.
“They had been looking at different options for him and think he’s perfect for the Saturday night slot.
“He already has a huge audience from the radio and they think he will bring them to RTE. The show format will be different then because he wants to have it is as his own,” a source told The Sun.
“It is going to be more like a variety show, with the Ant and Dec style of presenting.”
