Aidan Turner wins BAFTA award – as he admits he's not used to red carpets

Aidan Turner won big at the TV BAFTAs – with Poldark winning the Radio Times Audience Award.

The BBC1 period drama beat Bake Off, Humans, Making a Murderer, Peter Kay’s Car Share and Doctor Foster to win the coveted prize.

While the Dublin actor was chuffed with his win, he admitted earlier in the night that red carpets aren’t his thing.

“I’m not around this, this isn’t my daily grind,” he said.
