Dermot O'Leary: 'The X Factor always does well in Dublin – we found Niall Horan last time'

As auditions kick-off tomorrow for the next series of the X Factor in Dublin, Dermot O’Leary has admitted the show always finds a wealth of talent in Ireland.

The British star, whose parents are Irish, confessed the city has produced a number of stars.

“Last time we came to Dublin, when we had Katy Perry on the panel, we found Niall Horan,” he said.

“Dublin is good for bands for us, if you fancy chucking together a couple of mates and going down.

“We always do well in Dublin. I don’t know why we haven’t been back,” he added.

Speaking on 2fm’s The Nicky Byrne Show, the TV presenter admitted he’d love Sharon Osbourne to join Louis Walsh on the panel.

“It would be great to see those two back on the same panel because they bring the best out in each other,” he said.
