The Traitors bosses have reportedly said they want this famous Friends star to host the Celebrity version.
Courteney Cox who played Monica Geller in the hit series is the favourite to present the star-studded version of The Traitors
The 59-year-old is good friends with the current host of the show Claudia Winkleman.
According to sources, the producers are hoping to have a number of stars eager to fill the role following the success of the first two series.
A source told The Sun: “The fact the producers have a star from Friends in their sights shows the kind of calibre of famous faces Celebrity Traitors is aiming for.”
“After the show was announced, producers were swamped with calls from big names and their agents wanting to throw their hat in the ring — many of them a big surprise.”
The source continued: “Courteney has always been a fan of the show, particularly as the British version has her mate Claudia fronting it.”
As for contestants, the producers on the show are reportedly eyeing up famous rivals Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy.
Bosses are also said to be considering former footballer Gary Lineker and former Health Secretary Matt Hancock.
A source told The Sun: “Bosses want big names as the show is getting big viewing figures, and they know they’ll have plenty to choose from as The Traitors has huge fans within the showbiz world…”
“But they also want stars who are likely to be great game-players and who have great survival skills, the ability to double-cross or a way of sniffing out a back-stabber.”
“Rumours of a celebrity series have naturally swirled since The Traitors launched in 2022 and the show became an instant hit — but they have been unfounded Âgossip until now,” the source concluded.
The insider also added that the bosses wanted the civilian version of the show to take off before investing in the celebrity version.
However, after the immediate success of the first two series the producers have decided to go ahead with the star-studded spin-off.
The source added: “They’re shooting for the stars too because they don’t see why they can’t attract the same calibre of people that currently sign up for Strictly and I’m A Celebrity.”
