A host of Irish talent strutted their stuff on the BAFTAs red carpet.

While Allen Leech was the only Irish celebrity to actually be nominated at the prestigious awards, it was the Irish ladies that stood out at the annual award show.

TV presenter and stylist Angela Scanlon walked the red carpet, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Reese Witherspoon and Amy Adams.

Angela, 30, went for a minimalist look, wearing her hair slicked back in a ponytail, natural makeup and this black number.

The RTE star went for quiet a simple look, when the night before she stunned in a this bright pink suit.

The red-head stood out at the Nominees dinner, where she partied with Mamma Mia star Dominic Cooper.

Clearly the red head wanted a more elegant look for the official red carpet, but we loved the pop of colour the night before.

Nerve-wrecking: Nadia took a bathroom selfie at the award show

Also spotted on the red carpet was model turned singer Nadia Forde.

The I’m A Celebrity star opted for a long white Catherine Walker dress with a large slit, to show off her curvaceous figure.

Posting a bathroom selfie on her Instagram, Nadia admitted being on such a star-studded red carpet was scary.

“That has to be the most nerve wrecking red carpet ever!!!”

Missing out: Laura was a stand out attendee last year | INSTAGRAM

But there was no sign of red carpet veteran Laura Whitmore, who hosted the BAFTA red carpet last year.

The MTV presenter made a huge impact last year, both hosting as well as walking the red carpet.

Clearly sad about missing out on the biggest night for TV and film in the UK, Laura shared this throwback post on her Instagram.

“Throwback to wearing #alexandrevauthier to the Baftas. Good luck to all the nominees tonight x,” she captioned the photo.
