Brendan O’Connor is gearing up for his TV comeback in a “bear pit of a show”.
According to the Irish Sun, the chat show host has filmed three pilots of a new panel series ahead of one being comissioned by RTE.
The move serves as Brendan’s €1m comeback to Irish TV after his previous series, The Saturday Night Show was axed to make way for Ray D’Arcy.
“It was a bear pit of a show with Brendan the ringmaster of the Circus. It really suited him,” an insider said of the pilot.

Neil Delamere, Brian Kennedy and Newstalk’s Chris Donoghue where all said to be involved in filming.
Brenda’s new show will reportedly run for 16 weeks, with a short run starting in May and a longer run beginning in Autumn.
“The new show has such a long run because Brendan has a TV contract to appear on RTE TV for that many hours from his Saturday Night Show,” a source revealed.
“RTE has to match the same amount of hours on screen with his new show.

“Brendan was getting incredible ratings on Saturday nights.
“People will be tuning in for Brendan most of all. RTE One is his audience. It may not even be a comedy show.

“Brendan O’Connor’s new show will do well on RTE One, maybe even better than The Panel did when it switched to the same channel because Brendan is very much a face of RTE One.
“Given that the show is still in development we’re not in a position to comment on what form the final show may take or how long it will run for,” an RTE spokeswoman said.
“Understandably that is still all under consideration at this time.
