Promises: Simon has told Louis Ireland’s Got Talent will happen

Speaking on the future of the franchise, Simon said there should be an Irish version in the future.

“It should be, it better be … because that was the promise I made Louis,” he told Radio Times.

Insiders have speculated that with Simon’s backing, the Irish version could end up being broadcast on TV3.

“I’d be optimistic that if Simon Cowell is backing Ireland’s Got Talent, it will make it on to TV screens over here,” an insider said.

Sources have also dismissed the idea that Ireland’s Got Talent will simply be another version of the All Ireland Talent Show.

“Ireland’s Got Talent starring Louis Walsh would be in a different league from the All Ireland Talent Show which had John Creedon, Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh and Dana as judges,” they told the Irish Sun.

“Louis Walsh coming off X Factor, the biggest show on the planet, would attract entertainers who would never go near an Irish talent show with a barge pole.”
