Victoria Beckham brands Spice Girls reunion as ‘sad’

Victoria Beckham has branded the Spice Girls reunion as “sad” – if they don’t sing new material.

Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner are set to reunite the group, after Victoria and Mel C declined to take part in the reunion – despite it being their 25th anniversary.

While the 42-year-old designer has wished her former bandmates well, Victoria has now admitted that she hopes they don’t perform their old hits – as it would be a bit “sad”.

“Of course, as a new group, I do [wish them well],” she told The Sunday Times’ Style magazine.

“I do think they should sing new material, though, because what we did as the Spice Girls was so special. If they sang Spice Girls songs, I think I might be a bit sad.”

The news comes after Melanie C previously slammed the Spice Girls reunion by telling Love Magazine, “There’s a lot to be said for bowing out on a high note.”

Meanwhile, Victoria also admitted that she hates appearing on red carpets after so many years of fame, and being criticised for her looks.

“I just can’t wait to get down the carpet and be done with it.

“I don’t know if it’s the years of being photographed and the criticism, but I just feel exposed and vulnerable and uncomfortable, and I can’t be myself,” she added.
