James Corden to host 2017 Grammy Awards

The comedian has a musical background

James Corden is set to host the 2017 Grammy Awards next year.

The comedian has come far from his humble beginnings on popular UK shows like Little Britain, as he is now one of the world’s most beloved presenters, thanks to his hilarious Carpool Karaokes segments.

Known best for his acting roles, he first started his career in 1996 when he was given a single line in the musical Martin Guerre.

Since 2012, the awards have been hosted by LL Cool J with other hosts like Ellen DeGeneres, Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg – all, like James, have a musical background.

“I am truly honoured to be hosting The Grammys next year,” James told Variety magazine.

“It’s the biggest, most prestigious award show in music and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such an incredible night.”

The awards take place on February 12th, 2017.
