Adele apologises to devastated fans after cancelling concert due to illness

Adele was forced to cancel her concert in the US last night, after coming down with a bad cold.

The British star posted a video to Twitter, showing her looking extremely under weather, and apologised to fans – explaining that she wasn’t well enough to perform in Phoenix, Arizona on Wednesday.

Adele had performed at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix the night before, but ended up pushing herself too hard – leaving her unable to appear for a second night.

“I’m really, really sorry. I’ve had a cold for a couple of days and I’ve been pushing through it.

“I did my show last night and I loved it but I pushed too hard and my cold has gotten the better of me,” she said in the video.

The 28-year-old, who has been performing non-stop over the past few months on her sell-out world tour, promised fans that she would reschedule the show.

“I’ve enjoyed my tour so much and cancelling shows has not been something I want to do.

Sorry: Adele apologised to disappointed fans

“I’m so sorry to let you down. I know lots of people will be flying in from all over. It’s the last thing I want to do but I have to look after myself because I’ve got so many more shows to do.

“I will reschedule this show, I promise you. And I will come back and I’ll smash it for you,” she added.
