Ireland’s Eurovision hopeful Bambie Thug was hospitalised on Friday night, after eating “bad shellfish”.
The singer was forced to cancel a meet and greet performance in Malmö, Sweden, on Saturday after being admitted to hospital.
In a post shared on Instagram, they wrote: “I had to go to hospital late last night and be put on a drip because I ate some bad shellfish.”
“I need to take the day to try and recover so I can smash my performances next week. I promise I’ll make it up to you,” they told fans.
The 31-year-old is due to perform their song Doomsday Blue in the first Eurovision semi-final on Tuesday, May 7th.
RTÉ has since confirmed Bambie has been released from hospital, and is resting in their hotel.
The first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest will air on RTÉ One on Tuesday, May 7th, at 8pm – with Bambie set to perform fourth.
The second semi-final will air on RTÉ2 on Thursday, May 9th, before the finale airs on Saturday, May 11th, at 8pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
