There’s some great new TV shows and movies joining Netflix this week.

From a heartwarming dating series, to a mystery film starring Jamie Dornan and Gal Gadot, there’s plenty of titles to add to your watch list in the coming days.

Untold: Johnny Football

The latest episode of Netflix’s Untold series will follow footballer Johnny Manziel’s wild rise as a promising young quarterback.

But as the money rolled in, the scrutiny heightened, and his newfound fame became too much to handle.

Untold: Johnny Football joins Netflix on Tuesday, August 8.

Ladies First: A Story of Women in Hip-Hop

This new four-part docu-series gets its title and theme from the 1989 Queen Latifah anthem (featuring Monie Love).

The show honours women’s crucial role in shaping hip-hop, layering fresh perspectives on the issues they rap about, and, according to Netflix, “reinserting them into the canon where they belong: at the center, from Day 1 to present day.”

The series premieres on Netflix on Wednesday, August 9.

Painkiller

Painkiller is a fictionalized telling of real events, is based on the book ‘Pain Killer: An Empire of Deceit and the Origin of America’s Opioid Epidemic’ by Barry Meier and the New Yorker article ‘The Family That Built an Empire of Pain’ by Patrick Radden Keefe.

The show will explore some of the origins and aftermath of the opioid crisis in America, highlighting the stories of perpetrators, victims, and truth-seekers whose lives are forever altered by the invention of OxyContin.

It joins Netflix on Thursday, August 10.

Down For Love 

This feel-good dating show follows several people with Down Syndrome as they navigate the trials and triumphs of dating.

Down For Love joins Netflix on Friday, August 11.

Heart of Stone

Gal Gadot stars as Agent Rachel Stone, the only intelligence operative who stands between her global, peace-keeping organization and the loss of its most valuable — and dangerous — asset, codenamed: The Heart.

Jamie Dornan, Matthias Schweighöfer, Sophie Okonedo, Jing Lusi, Paul Ready, Archie Madekwe, Helga Kristín Helgadóttir and Jónas Alfreð Birkisson will also star in the film.

Heart of Gold joins Netflix on Friday, August 11.
