She told People Magazine: “I really don’t take those things personally. The internet is wild.”

“But I like it when people who I meet [who] have appreciated the show. Yeah. That’s always lovely.”

She shared “I mean, people are not the biggest fan of her,” adding that she received messages which said: “Thank you for letting me hate you so much” or “I love hating you so much.”

When asked how she felt about the hate she gets, she confessed: “It makes me feel like I’ve done my job right.”

Speaking of Cressidas storyline in season three, she continued: “The mask is falling off Cressida. She’s becoming a human being.”

“No, we’re getting to see her human side and why she is the way she is.”

“And yeah, that every mean girl has something beneath her. If we quote, ‘mean girl’ as everyone likes to call her.”

She added: “I personally don’t think she is, but hey, you know.”

The latest season of the hit Netflix show sees Irish star Nicola Coughlan take centre stage alongside Luke Newton, as we follow Penelope Featherington’s quest to find a husband with the help of the third Bridgerton brother Colin.

Part 1 of the highly anticipated third season landed on the streaming platform on May 16, giving fans a taste of what’s to come.

However, they must wait a bit longer to see the end of Penelope and Colin’s love story with part 2 following on June 13.
