Darren Kennedy has revealed he’s really nervous to host tonight’s VIP Awards Style Awards.
The TV star is taking over from previous host Brendan Courtney and admitted he thinks being anxious is a good thing – because it means he cares.
“I’ll probably have a good level of nerves. You should always have some nerves, if you’re not nervous you don’t care,” he told Goss.ie.

The fashionista is honoured to have been chosen as the presenter for the glamorous event after previously winning Best Dressed Man at the 2013 show.
“I just want to enjoy it myself, for me it’s going to be sweet because two years ago I won the best dressed man and now to be coming back as the host is really nice and exciting.”
“The thing for me is that everyone there has fun and enjoys themselves,” he explained.

“It’s gonna be mental. I haven’t had a chance to think about it because I’ve been so busy.”
Meanwhile, Darren is enjoying the success of his hit RTE series The Unemployables which has caught the eye of some international TV bosses.
“We’ll wait and see what happens. I’ve no idea who expressed interest in it, I don’t get involved in how those things work but there’s a whole market for the format,” he told Goss.ie.

“It would be lovely to see it go worldwide but my focus is to make the programme here as big a success as it can be. We’ve made a strong series, I’m really happy with it.”
“I want it to do well and I want people to see it and I want people to enjoy it which they are, the reactions have been great.”
