Experts reveal what your dream holiday says about you

Whether your dream holiday is to backpack around Asia or all you want to do is sunbathe with a new book by the pool, your go-to vacation is completely personal – and a body language expert has now claimed it says a lot about who you really are.

As the country prepare for their travels this summer, body language expert Darren Stanton has revealed what your ideal holiday says about your personality on behalf of Betfair Casino.

Going into detail on backpack explorers, Darren reveals they “live for taking risks” but are “good leaders,” who can think on their feet easily. He adds that they are spontaneous by nature and prefer to avoid having a “plan” when they can.

Meanwhile, those who are after a relaxing, all-inclusive break prefer ‘structure’ but they want to ‘fully switch off’ from reality when they go on holiday.

He shares that they are people who seek the “safe option” as they “avoid trying new things” and gravitate towards what they know.

However, beach holiday-goers find strength in “disconnecting from reality” and are “a good shoulder to cry on”, while city break-goers prefer to “have a plan in place.”

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, body language expert Darren Stanton reveals: extroverted backpackers “rarely play by the rules and avoid having a plan.”

“Those who opt for a more adventurous holiday off the beaten track are more extroverted. They want to test themselves and push themselves outside of their comfort zone.”

“They live for taking risks. They rarely play by the rules and don’t like to be confined or restricted with options.”

“They are their own boss. They make good leaders and like to be the ones initiating direction.”

“They find it hard to follow instructions, so they’re quite dominant characters – but they’re good in a crisis.”

“They can think on their feet and if something goes wrong, they don’t stress at all. They also like to embrace different cultures and try new things.”

“They’re free thinkers, spontaneous and very optimistic about life, avoiding the need to stick to a plan.”

All-inclusive seekers like “structure” but want to “fully switch off” and “avoid trying new things.”

“Those who opt for an all-inclusive seek structure. They like that they don’t have to think about where to go every day, it’s all right in front of them.”

“They want a proper break from reality. They’re people who can easily relax and take things at a steady pace.”

“They aren’t bothered by exploring when they travel. They want to take that time for themselves to fully switch off.”

“They are also people who take pleasure from continuity. They gravitate to what they know. They stay clear of trying anything new or different because it’s a safe option.”

Beach holiday-goers find pleasure in “independence” as they prefer to be in a “state of calm.”

“People who like to go on a beach holiday are interesting. They gravitate towards the colour blue.”

“The colour blue is important psychologically. Surrounding yourself with the colour blue increases feel-good hormones and dopamine. It makes us feel at peace.”

“They will be quite introverted, but they like simplicity. They don’t feel the need to go wild and be the life and soul of the party.”

“They like to be in a calm state but still enjoy interacting with others. They go to the beach to find their inner peace and solitude.”

“They find strength in disconnecting from reality but still like to take it all in. People who like the beach are also free thinkers, they’re attracted to new sights and smells surrounding them.”

“These people are also good to be friends with. They will be the best shoulder to cry on and always listen to what you’re going through. However, they do like their own space and having independence.”

Spa break-goers are “open-minded” people who like to “switch off.”

“People who want to go on a spa break are very open-minded. They’re very open to nurturing themselves and want to completely relax.”

“They find peace by changing environments to ensure they switch off from their busy lives. They will also be spiritual people.”

“They believe everything happens for a reason in their life. They would want somewhere that isn’t too far away and not for too long either.”

City break-goers opt to “have a plan in place” as “time is important to them.”

“Those who opt for a city break find it hard to switch off. They tend to be extroverted people.”

“They are interested in exploring new places and embracing different cultures wherever they go. They like to try new things and seek change.”

“They can’t be sat down for too long and find it hard to relax in traditional ways. They like to be in a buzzing atmosphere. They enjoy structure and being at a certain place at a certain time.”

“Time is very important to them. They enjoy being busy, being on their feet all day and making the most of every moment.”

“Being independent doesn’t faze them and most of the time, they like doing things on their own.”
