Dublin nail bar will make their US debut on the Ellen DeGeneres Show

Dublin nail bar Tropical Popical will make their US television debut today.

The popular nail haunt on South William Street will be the topic of discussion on the Ellen DeGeneres Show when Saoirse Ronan appears on the programme.

Opening up about how she heard about her Golden Globe nomination, the Carlow beauty previously revealed she was getting her nails tended to in the salon when the important call came through.

Speaking to the Goss.ie, owner of Tropical Popical Andrea Horan revealed researchers at The Ellen Show called to see if they could broadcast the images of the 21-year-old celebrating her nomination.

“They rang to say they have Saoirse on and they asked if they could use the picture from our Instagram from when she got the news about the Golden Globes nomination,” Andrea said.

Opening up about the moment she got the call about her award honour, Andrea admitted the movie star was very down-to-earth and went about her business as normal.

“All our other clients were there and she was sitting at the pedicure station doing her media interviews,” she explained.

The Brooklyn actress is a fan of the nail salon and is known to stop by to get the latest nail art when she’s in Dublin.

While tipped for an Oscar nomination, time will only tell if Tropical Popical will look after Saoirse’s manicure for the rest of award season.

“Well fingers crossed she gets nominated and we would be more than delighted to be doing the nails of an Oscar nominated actress,” Andrea added.
