Lottie Ryan ‘shook’ after being mum-shamed by online trolls

Lottie Ryan has admitted she’s been left “shook” by mum-shaming online trolls.

The popular presenter returned to work at RTÉ 2FM this week, after giving birth to her son Wolf in June.

During her first show back, the new mum opened up about how nervous she was about sending her baby boy to a creche.

She told listeners: “I didn’t sleep last night. It’s such a strange, strange feeling because I’m so excited to be back, and I’m so nervous for Wolf starting creche.”

Lottie has now revealed she has been mum-shamed online for deciding to send her baby boy to a creche.

The Dublin native said: “I was shook by some of the messages that other mothers sent me. You know it was a difficult week for me, it is not easy putting your kid into creche, and it is very emotional and he is very young.”

“I was getting messages from some mothers saying, ‘Oh my God Lottie, how could you put a beautiful young baby into creche at this age, it’s an absolute disgrace, you should be ashamed of yourself’.”

The 36-year-old admitted: “It did really upset me, because I’m new to this and I am really learning. I’m a complete novice and I don’t know what I am doing and I’m figuring things out as I go and I have to come back to work.”

Lottie added that when she looked at the profiles of those sending the messages, she could see they were also mothers.

She said it made her angry because they know “nothing about me”.
