David Rawle: 'If it wasn't for Moone Boy, I wouldn't have become an actor'

Moone Boy star David Rawle has admitted that becoming an actor was never his dream.

The Leitrim native admitted the role in the hit Sky series “fell into his lap” and he probably would have never becoming an actor if the series hadn’t come along.

“If it wasn’t for Moone Boy I probably wouldn’t have anything to do with acting to be honest,” he said.

Career: David probably wouldn’t have become an actor if Moone Boy hadn’t come along

“With Moone Boy it kind of fell into my lap in a way. I kind of look a bit like Chris O’Dowd which I think helped.”

“I honestly don’t know what I’d be thinking of doing next. I like English, I like woodwork and I like history, but I don’t know what I’d study in college,” he told The Sun.

David’s film career has also picked up speed with a lead voicing role in the Oscar-nominated Song Of The Sea.

However, the 14-year-old star remains humble about his part in the flick.

“When we were doing it, it wasn’t an Oscar-nominated film. It was just a bit of fun and it was a really, really beautiful script.”
