DJ Ray D’Arcy’s wife has slapped down his want to get a live vasectomy on his radio show – admitting she wants the option to have more kids.
The Today FM presenter told listeners on Thursday that he was convinced he should get the snip and would do it on the programme.
The 49-year-old was even told by Dr John O’Keeffe of the Morehampton Clinic that he would do the operation for him.
But Ray’s wife Jenny Kelly – who was urged to do commentary of the vasectomy for listeners – insisted it won’t be happening.

She fumed: “Would you ever learn that it’s not happening? I’ll be in Mount Merrion. I can get in in 15 minutes. It’s not happening.”
She added: “As all women know, we’re never ready to say no, no, enough’s enough.”
But Ray – who has two children, Kate, eight and two-year-old Tom with Jenny – tried to change her mind.
“Did we not have a chat at home about doing it? Yes we did,” she said. “Not about doing it live on air but did have a chat about having the snip.
“We know from yesterday that it happens all over the country, people have a chat about having a snip at a certain stag.”
