Lauren Whelan has confirmed her split from her boyfriend Shane Morgan.
The fan favourite pair confirmed their romance in December, which delighted their respective followers on social media.
However, in a raw and emotional video posted to TikTok, the influencer has now revealed that their romance has come to an end.
Lauren spoke out after fans noticed that the pair, who are normally active together on social media, had not posted since last month.
The influx of fans openly wondering about their relationship was the driving factor in Lauren’s video revealing they had broken up.
In her emotional video, Lauren said: “I didn’t really want to make this video yet, I didn’t feel like I was ready, but I’ve been seeing a lot of things being posted and I kind of felt like I have to now.”
“I understand that people are curious, but me and Shane are broken up.”

As she fought back tears she added: “I understand that we put a lot of that online and I know people are curious but just be mindful if you’re making comments or videos that I am human at the end of the day.”
“I am still grieving a relationship like a normal person does.”
“I think I was kind of embarrassed making this video but I realised there’s probably thousands of people who will watch this video that are going through a heartbreak at the same time as well.”
“So I thought, why would I be fake and go on and act as if everything is fine, so I’m going to share my journey of healing with you all as well.”
“We can get through this all together, sorry I’ve been absent and I hope you can all be patient with me as I get back into the flow of things.”
Lauren confirmed her relationship with Shane at the end of last year, after previously teasing that she had a new man in her life.
In March, Lauren shared a ‘Get Ready with Me’ video of her getting ready for a double date.
The social media star revealed she and her mystery beau were heading out with her best friend and her best friend’s boyfriend for their second date.
Speaking to her TikTok followers, Lauren said: “I’m so excited for this, because I’ve always wanted to go on a double date with my bestie.”

“My best friend’s boyfriend is actually the sweetest boy in the world, and I just think they’re gonna get along so well. So, the plan tonight is for us all to go out for tapas and then go to a bar and have some drinks.”
“But he actually doesn’t drink, so we’re just gonna have kind of a chill night and then maybe go out and do a little bit of dancing. I’ll have like a cocktail or two, but we’re not gonna go too crazy.”
Meanwhile, Shane sparked rumours he was dating Lauren when he told the same spiel about going on a second date, which happened to be a date with her, her best friend and her best friend’s boyfriend.
Being so open about their relationship online had attracted some negative attention, but the pair didn’t seem fazed by the interest.
Speaking to Goss.ie as they made their pink carpet debut at The Gossies 2024, Shane said: “It’s been good so far, we haven’t had any bad spells yet. Maybe soon but not yet anyway!”
Lauren then explained: “Everyone’s so supportive and we love each other so much so why wouldn’t we want to show that, you know?”
While Lauren is based in Carlow, Shane lives up north in Derry.
Speaking about navigating their long distance relationship at the time, Lauren told us: “It’s ok, it’s a four-hour drive so whenever I go up I spend a few days, and I’m just lucky that my job is so flexible and he works from home so its ok.”
