Justin and Hailey Bieber have already picked the “perfect” name for their unborn child.
The couple announced they were expecting their first child together on Thursday, by sharing photos and a video of them renewing their wedding vows.
Hailey, who married the pop singer in 2018, wore a Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello white lace gown as she showed off her growing baby bump in the snaps.
A source has since told PEOPLE: “Everyone is excited for them. They will be great parents, and Justin will be super involved.
“This will be the next important project for him. He’s so excited to raise his baby. They have a name that they think is perfect.
“They’re also starting to decorate a nursery. They can’t wait to meet the baby.”
The insider continued: “They have both been very emotional about it. They feel so blessed.”
“They’ve also felt very protective of the baby from the moment they found out. They shared with family and close friends early on.
“It was very important for them to keep it quiet and just enjoy [it] for as long as possible before they publicly confirmed.”
The couple secretly wed at a New York City courthouse in September 2018, just two months after the Canadian musician proposed in the Bahamas.
One year later, they exchanged vows in front of family and friends at their star-studded second wedding in South Carolina on September 30, 2019.
Hailey previously addressed rumours that the pair were expecting their first child last October.
She told GQ Hype : “Recently, everybody was like, ‘Oh, my God, she’s pregnant,’ and that’s happened to me multiple times before.”
“There is something that’s disheartening about, Damn, I can’t be bloated one time and not be pregnant?”
“It would be a lie if I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, I don’t give a s**t.”
The Rhode founder told the publication that she was looking forward to motherhood, but said once her and Justin begin to try for a family, the public would be the last to know.
“When there comes a day that that is true, you…you, as in the internet, will be the last to know,” the 26-year-old explained.
“It’s also such a private, intimate thing. It’s something that’s going to come when it comes. And it’s just, honestly, at the end of the day, so hilarious how much people f**king care.”
“Let me do what I want to do with my body and you guys can do what you want to do with your body—and let’s just let it be that.”
The model revealed that she believes it will be hard to raise a family out of the spotlight, labelling it as “probably totally unavoidable.”
“Maybe I liked the idea at 18 of not raising kids around certain things, but my life is so different now than it was when I was 18,” Hailey continued.
“It’s so hard to say what I’m going to do or not do when there isn’t even a child here yet. I don’t even know what it feels like to be a parent other than a dog parent yet.”
“And that’s not the same thing, by any means.”
Hailey faced intense online hate last year, after she was accused of “bullying” Selena Gomez, who dated Justin on-and-off from 2010 until 2018.
Last March, Selena issued a plea to her fans to stop sending negativity towards Hailey, after rumours swirled of a “feud” between the pair.
The former Disney Channel star wrote at the time: “Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity. This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying.”
Hailey thanked Selena for speaking out and the pair subsequently followed each other on social media.
Selena famously dated Canadian singer Justin Bieber on-and-off for eight years, before they officially called it quits in 2018.
Shortly after his split from Selena, Justin rekindled his romance with Hailey in 2018.
That July, Justin proposed to Hailey during a trip to the Bahamas, and they secretly tied-the-knot in September 2018.
One year later, the couple exchanged vows for the second time at a star-studded ceremony in South Carolina.
During her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast in September 2022, Hailey revealed she got a lot of hate from Selena’s fans for “stealing” Justin from her.
Setting the record straight on the claims, the model told host Alex Cooper: “When him and I started hooking up, or anything of that sort, he was not in any relationship, It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship, I would just never do that. I was raised better than that…”
“I think there are situations where you can still have back and forth with someone, but even that was not the situation,” Hailey continued. “I can say period, point blank, that I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody. That’s the end of it.”
“A lot of the hate comes from like ‘oh you stole him’, and I guess that comes from the fact that they wished he ended up with someone else. And that’s fine, you can wish that all you want, but that’s just not the case.”
“There’s a certain numbness that you get [from the hate]. It still happens to this day. If I was to go live right now, it would still be happening. You reach a point where you have to ignore it.”
“If we have moved on, why can’t you?” she added. “It’s hurtful and it’s bullying.”
