Since joining the 2FM team Nicky Byrne has been up to all sorts of antics, but nothing beats his on-air chat with Anne Doyle.
The Westlife singer called up the legendary RTE news reader to ask her out on a date this Christmas.
Anne seemed delighted with the offer, saying: Â “It’s not everyday I get the opportunity to go for a pint with a good looking young fella like that. Wohoo.”

But unfortunately it won’t be that cozy, as Nicky is bringing along co-host Jenny Greene as well.
“Are you up for coming for a pint with us at Christmas? We’re going to go up to Micky Byrne’s pub in Shankhill,” Nicky asked.
The singer added that he is “going to have to buy a new suit” for the December date.

But Anne insisted that the pair meet up much sooner than Christmas.
“Well I have plenty of time to get in to practice between now and then.”
“That’s a long way away can’t we do something now, get into practice before December?” she said.
