The hosts of Eurovision 2022 have been revealed

The hosts of Eurovision 2022 have been revealed.

Popstar Mika will be joined by Alessandro Cattelan and Laura Pausini to present this year’s Song Contest.

The official Eurovision Song Contest account tweeted on Wednesday: “Introducing your Hosts for #Eurovision 2022! Laura Pausini, Alessandro Cattelan and Mika will welcome the world to Turin on 10, 12, and 14 May! Benvenuti!”

Speaking to Eurovision, Mika said: “I’ve been watching it since I was a kid, the whole family would get together for the Grand Final.”

“Once a year, more than 40 countries share the same emotions, regardless of history or the political situation: music unites them.”

“It’s an exciting honour to be one of the masters of ceremony on these fantastic nights.”

Eurovision has described Laura Pausini as “possibly the most highly regarded Italian recording artist in the world”.

In 2021, the songstress won four Latin Grammys, a Grammy Award, a Golden Globe, and received a historic Oscars nod for the first-ever song sung entirely in Italian to be nominated.

Meanwhile Alessandro Cattelan is a famous Italian television host, who has hosted shows such as the Italian X Factor.

Ireland’s Eurovision entry will be chosen on Friday night’s Late Late Show Eurosong Special.

The contenders battling it out are Rachel Goode, Brendan Murray, Janet Grogan, Patrick O Sullivan and Miles Graham.

The six singers who are in the running were selected from hundreds of applications received by RTÉ last year.
