Former Westlife star Shane Filan has revealed his daughter is looking to follow in his footsteps and become a famous singer.
The Sligo singer said he would be “very cautious and protective” of his kids, but is actively encouraging Nicole, nine, in her stage dream.
He added: “I’d be very cautious and protective of my own kids obviously but at the moment Nicole has asked to go to stage school and be in musicals.

“She is a very good singer. She came up on stage with me during the tour and she had no fear of it. You could see that she thought it was cool.
“I’m going to encourage her because I know she loves it. If she was a good swimmer I’d encourage that. Gillian and I just want to give her and the boys every opportunity we can.”
Meanwhile Shane told the Irish Independent that he is still searching for more fame himself as a solo star.

He added: “I want to find that great, killer song. I am going to search the world for that song. Once you get that killer song, every country wants you.
“To sell out the Olympia myself was a very proud feeling. If I can keep playing the Olympias that’s a good level to be at. I’ve already played the stadiums and the arenas.
“Of course you dream that it might happen again but I’m afraid to dream too much in case I disappoint myself.”
