Domhnall Gleeson has opened up about his famous dad and insisted he doesn’t mind being known as Brendan Gleeson’s son.
The Star Wars actor said both himself and his brother are still burdened with the tag, but he is “very proud” of it.
And Domhnall, who is currently starring alongside his father in the Walworth Farce, said he thinks its because people “really respect” Brendan.
He said: “Both Brian and I still get that but it’s because people really, really respect my dad.

“They enjoy his work and I don’t want to sound big-headed about my dad, but I think they enjoy him because he has done good stuff. I’m very proud of the ‘Brendan’s son’ tag.
“A lot of people don’t have a good relationship with their father at all. I have a brilliant relationship with mine and I love his work, so I’m very happy to be my father’s son.”
While Domhnall is enjoying success at the minute, he has learned quickly that showbiz is not as glamorous as it seems.

He said: “To not get work for a while, or to have a bad experience on a film, these things still have to happen to you so you can truly know how the business can be.”
“It’s complicated with three of us in the family, that’s half the family doing it, but it’s good because we’re all enjoying ourselves.”
And Domhnall told the RTE Guide he now feels “more OK” with turning down certain acting roles after roles in films like Ex Machina and the upcoming Star Wars blockbuster.
He said: “In the last year or two, I’ve been able to read stuff and it has felt ok to say no. I’ll take my time, take a month off and see if anything comes up. That’s a huge luxury, although if you hope you don’t turn down the wrong thing!”
