Cecelia Ahern reveals she DOESN'T know why all the actors in her new movie speak in a British accent

Cecelia Ahern has admitted she has no idea why her new movie features characters with all British accents.

The Irish author had her novel Where Rainbows End turned into a new film called Love,Roise.

The movie was filmed in Ireland, but lead actors Lily Cole and Sam Clafin both speak in a British accent.

“To be honest with you I don’t know the exact reason for it,” she said.

“I wasn’t in on that meeting. Lily Collins is American, but she does a fantastic English accent, and everyone else is English, but I don’t know what the decision was.”

Love Rosie: The movie stars American actress Lily Collins

“The good thing is that it was filmed here, so we have all the actors in Ireland.”

“We filmed all around Portmarnock, Howth and Rathmines, so its really nice to see Dublin in it, but they all have English accents, so the setting is England but the filming is Ireland.”

” It’s funny we had all the actors on Portmarnock beach speaking in English accents.” Cecelia revealed.

Cecelia made the comment on Newstalk’s Pat Kenny Show, where she added that most actors can’t grasp the Irish accent.

“I suppose with PS I Love You Gerard Butler had an Irish accent which some people were giving out about,” she said.

“Irish accents are so hard to pull off if you’re not Irish, we’re so particular about it.”
