Jason Oppenheim broke down in tears over his split from Chrishell Stause during the Selling Sunset season five reunion.
The Oppenheim Group co-founder was joined by his brother Brett and co-stars Chelsea Lazkani, Heather Rae El Moussa, Maya Vander, Davina Potratz, Amanza Smith, Emma Hernan, Vanessa Villela and Chrishell for the show’s first ever reunion special, which premiered on Netflix earlier today.
When asked by reunion host Tan France whether his relationship with Chrishell was a “showmance”, Jason replied: “I hesitate to answer that question. I don’t want to give it any credence. That’s like asking me if the Earth is flat. It’s a stupid question to me. I don’t feel the need to explain to people that…”
Becoming visibly emotional, Jason said of his break-up: “There’s a lot of sadness and loss. I think watching the show made it more difficult. It brought it all back up.”
“It’s been a few months, but I’m still just going through stuff. There was a lot of love between us and there still is. I still care about her very much. This has been a very difficult break-up.”
Chrishell is also seen wiping away tears as she watched her ex-boyfriend get upset about their split.
Chrishell and Jason confirmed their relationship in July 2021, and their romance was a major storyline on season five of Selling Sunset.
The couple called it quits five months later, following disagreements about having children in the future.
Chrishell said at the time of their split: “Jason was and is my best friend and other than our ideas for family ultimately not being aligned, the amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change going forward.”
