Sarah Hyland has slammed online trolls, who criticised her for wearing Spanx to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday.
The actress shared a stunning pic at the bash on Instagram, alongside the witty caption: “#funfact I’m wearing TWO pairs of spanx. Why diet? When you can just hide it!”
After posting the snap, the Modern Family star faced a lot of backlash over her caption.
One Instagram user commented, “What an irresponsible post from someone with influence. You are transparent about your problems gaining weight, so imagine how confusing and upsetting this post is to some people. Please consider addressing your mistake, you can do better!”

Another wrote, “Ummmm, hide what exactly? You are perfectly fine. Maybe a little too skinny. Here have a sandwich!”
After noticing the backlash, Sarah revealed the real reason why she was wearing Spanx, as she was trying to hide a bulge in her lower abdomen, from her kidney transplant in 2017.
After a fan tweeted, “If you’re trying to hide the bump from your transplant, forget it. I’ve been trying for years!! Stay healthy,” Sarah replied, “Someone gets it!!”
The actress also replied to a tweet that has been deleted: “When you have two kidney transplants and are on steroids for life get back to me.”
