Hold on to your hats, as it’s that time of year again! Mercury goes retrograde in Virgo from August 23rd to September 14th.
Three to four times each year, Mercury goes through a three-week long retrograde cycle when the planet appears to stop, pivot, and move backward in the sky.
In astrology, Mercury is said to rule communication, technology, information and travel so when it enters it’s retrograde station, expect mishaps to occur in these areas.
This may include missed flights and connections , traffic delays, technology issues, and miscommunications galore.

Mercury in retrograde is most famous for ex’s turning up out of the blue.
Due to that brain fog Mercury Retrograde brings with it, we may have our rose tinted spectacles on when it comes to returning that text!
Venus is also in retrograde right now, which may actually help you here, as you might catch sight of your reflection and snap yourself out of it. Staying true to who you are and not feeling obligated to return that DM or text.
A good rule of thumb would be to ask yourself what would your best friend / sister say if they found out you were in touch again…. And if you just winced as you visualised it, that’s a NO!

Mercury Retrograde is not a good time to start anything new. It’s a great time to review, rethink, and refocus.
Tidy up your dating profile. Research clubs, societies or charities that need volunteers in your area. You are the project. Invest in yourself.

- Keep texting short and simple.
- Try and move to a direct call, therefore it’s less likely there will be blurred lines of communication.
- Double check your dates and times, meeting point etc.
- Check that your texts / emails were delivered before you jump to conclusions.
- Be flexible if plans change. Realise you’re dating in the middle of a very busy retrograde season, so go with the flow.
- Don’t be surprised if restaurant bookings get lost, or if cinema tickets won’t print. You both could even show up at different Costa’s a few Kilometres from each other.
