EXCLUSIVE! Moone Boy's David Rawle: 'Chris O'Dowd would be a terrible mentor'

Moone Boy star David Rawle has opened up about Chris O’Dowd being a “terrible mentor” – in jest of course.

Speaking to Goss.ie, the 15-year-old, who made his acting debut on the Sky One show, admitted the Hollywood actor’s “down-to-earth” nature made all the difference on set – especially when directing the final season.

After working on three series with the Bridesmaid star, the Leitrim native couldn’t help but admire his work ethic.

“That would be terrible, he’d be a terrible mentor,” he joked.

Mentor: David admitted Chris was a great mentor to have on the Moone Boy set | BRIAN MCEVOY

“Definitely, Chris is really down-to-earth, he’s really sound and nice. It doesn’t really matter even if they’re behind schedule he was always nice to people and always really calm.

“He even directed the third series, that’s a huge commitment – he wrote it, he was in it and he directed it, imagine?” he added.

“I probably wouldn’t be able to do that – I don’t know how long we did it for, maybe 8 weeks, and you’d just be fed up the whole time. However he just did it with such grace, it was great.”
