Matt Cooper has quit The Tonight Show after four years.
The 55-year-old has been co-hosting the popular Virgin Media One show since 2017.
The Cork native, who presents The Last Word on Today FM from 4:30pm to 7pm every weekday, decided to quit the show to “enjoy more flexibility in the evenings”.
Sharing the news on Twitter, Matt wrote: “Holidays have confirmed it for me. Need to reduce the working hours a bit, enjoy more flexibility in the evenings after The Last Word on Today FM finishes at 7pm.”
“So not returning to #tonightvmtv Have enjoyed the last four years greatly and thanks to all at @VirginMedia_TV.”
“I will be working on other TV projects so you may see as well as hear me again soon,” he added.
Claire Brock has been co-hosting the show alongside Matt, taking over from Ciara Doherty while she is on maternity leave.
I will be working on other TV projects so you may see as well as hear me again soon. 🙏
