Ed Sheeran and Anne Marie have teamed up to cover a very well known Irish Christmas song.
Ed and Anne Marie met up today for this week’s BBC Live Lounge, and the pair covered a very well known Irish Christmas classic.
The red haired singer songwriter and Anne Marie performed Fairytale of New York by The Pogues and Kirsty McColl for the BBC Live Lounge – with Irish folk band, Beoga, providing the music for the duet.
“I feel like I’m going to get murdered for this cover,” he laughed on Radio 1’s Live Lounge.
“It’s a cover that you shouldn’t really touch… BUT it’s Christmas and I brought Anne Marie with me,” he added.
“I feel like kids of a certain generation are going to like it, and adults are going to hate me,” he said jokingly.
You can’t beat the original, but Ed has a habit of knocking out perfect duets lately.
