Watch: New Rose of Tralee Maria Walsh takes on Ice Bucket Challenge

One thing we love about the Rose of Tralee is the willingness by the Roses to truly have the craic.

And newly-crowned Maria Walsh proved she was up for the laugh when she did the Ice Bucket Challenge – just a day after winning the competition.

The Philadelphia Rose said it was “for a good cause” so was willing to take it on after 2FM Breakfast Republic’s nomination.

Now she has nominated three former Roses of Tralee: Alice O’Sullivan, Sinead Boyle, and Aoibhinn Ní Shuilleabhain.

Before taking on the Motor Neurone Disease challenge, Maria revealed she was hopeful of getting herself a celebrity boyfriend.

Previously RTE News star Sharon Ni Bheolain was left soaked after taking on the Ice Bucket Challenge.
