Country singer Megan O’Neill is making a name for herself in America after one of her songs was featured on hit TV series Nashville.
The Kildare native admitted she was shocked to discover her original song Don’t You was chosen to feature on an episode of the show late last year.
“In December, before we even had anything released, we pitched the record to the producers and they loved it and used one of the songs in an episode. It was a  bit unexpected,” she said.

The singer first became a fan of the series after she moved to Nashville to pursue her dream of a music career after college.
“I lived in Nashville for about two years and the TV show actually came out when I was there,” she explained.
“I used to watch it and think ‘I can’t believe I live here, this is so weird’. I definitely got a bit hooked to it.”

Meanwhile, the rising star has already made a splash in Hollywood by dueting with Gavin James at the famous Oscar Wilde party in Los Angeles.
“It was insane. We had the best time at it,” she told The Herald.
“We got to meet JJ and other people like Carrie Fisher and Stephen Fry were all having drinks at the same bar. It was very weird.”
“[Gavin and I] randomly decided that we should do a duet together. We both knew U2’s With Or Without You so we sang that at the end of the night,” she said.
