Zayn Malik has revealed what made him leave One Direction –Â Aliens (yes you read that right).
The 23-year-old heartthrob left 1D in March 2015, to the horror of fangirls everywhere.
At the time, he said he just wanted to be a “22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.”
He told US Glamour something very different.

The magazine asked him about the first time he realized he wanted to break off fom One Direction.
“An alien spoke to me in a dream….” the star replied.
Um…what?
It’s hard to tell whether Zayn is joking or not. He used a lighthearted tone throughout the rapid fire Q&A.
When the magazine asked when he first felt like an adult, he said “Just yesterday.” When asked his first failure, he said “Wearing pastel colors.”
It’s possible he’s just trolling us.

Zayn has gone on to build a successful solo career since his break with 1D. His debut album Mind of Mine topped the charts when it came out in spring.
He told Apple Music’s Beats 1Radio about why he quit the boy band. “I just gave it a go because it was there at the time. I think I kinda always wanted to go. From the first year, I never really wanted to be there in the band,” he said.
‘When I realised the direction that we were going in, mind the pun, with the music, I instantly realised it wasn’t for me. How do you write a song from five people’s perspective?”
