Zayn Malik’s sisters show their support for the singer after he denies ‘striking’ Yolanda Hadid

Zayn Malik’s sisters have shown their support for the singer, after he strongly denied “striking” Gigi Hadid’s mother Yolanda.

The drama kicked off on Thursday night when TMZ reported that Yolanda was considering “filing charges” against the former 1D star, after she allegedly claimed he “struck” her.

In response to the story, Zayn said: “I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private.”

In a separate statement, the British singer wrote on Twitter: “As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in.”

“A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart.”

“In an effort to protect that space for [my daughter] I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.”

“This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been ‘leaked’ to the press.”

“I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves.”

Shortly after the news hit headlines, Zayn’s sisters Waliyha and Safaa stood by their brother by sharing both of his statements on their Instagram Stories.

Waliyha, 22, also posted a collage of Zayn and his daughter Khai, before sharing snaps of him with his family.

She then posted a cryptic quote about karma “coming after everyone eventually”.

The quote read: “You can’t get away with screwing people over your whole life, I don’t care who you are. What goes around comes around.”

“That’s how it works. Sooner or later the universe will serve you the revenge that you deserve.”

The singer’s 19-year-old sister Safaa also added fuel to the fire by sharing a quote about “toxic people”.

The quote said: “Don’t react to toxic people. Not giving them a reaction when they desperately seek it, is far more powerful.”

After Yolanda’s allegations against Zayn emerged, PEOPLE magazine reported that Gigi and Zayn are “not together right now”.

The couple have been dating on-and-off since 2015, and welcomed their first child, a daughter named Khai, in September 2020.
