Zayn Malik has “adamantly denied” striking Gigi Hadid’s mother, Yolanda.
On Thursday night, TMZ reported that Yolanda was considering “filing charges” against the former 1D star, alleging that he had “struck” her.
In an initial statement posted on Twitter, Zayn said he agreed not to “contest claims” arising from an “argument” that took place between him and Yolanda.
But in a second statement to TMZ, the 28-year-old vehemently denied the claims.
The British singer said: “I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private.”
Zayn has been dating model Gigi Hadid since 2015, and the couple welcomed a daughter named Khai together last September.
In his first statement, the former One Direction star wrote: “As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in.”

“In an effort to protect that space for [my daughter] I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.”

“I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves.”
Yolanda, 57, came to fame during her stint on the popular reality show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The show also documented the rise of Gigi and sister Bella’s modelling careers.
