Insiders have claimed Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid are “not together”, amid reports of a dispute between him and her mother Yolanda.
On Thursday night, TMZ reported that Yolanda was considering “filing charges” against the British singer, after she allegedly claimed he “struck” her.
Zayn has “adamantly denied” striking Yolanda, and said in a statement: “For the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private.”
Multiple sources have since told PEOPLE that Zayn and Gigi have broken up.
The couple have been dating on-and-off since 2015, and welcomed a daughter named Khai last September.
A Hadid family friend told the outlet: “They are not together right now. They are both good parents though.”
“They co-parent. Yolanda is of course very protective of Gigi. She wants the best for her daughter and grandchild,” the insider added.
Goss.ie has contacted Zayn and Gigi’s reps for a comment.
The news comes after Gigi released a statement through her rep, after Zayn and Yolanda’s alleged dispute hit headlines.
Her rep said: “Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time.”
Zayn and Gigi’s relationship hasn’t been plain sailing over the past few years.
The pair first sparked romance rumours in November 2015, after Zayn brutally called off his engagement to Little Mix star Perrie Edwards via text.
The couple dated up until March of 2018, when they announced their split via Twitter.
However just weeks later, Gigi and Zayn were spotted kissing in public, and continued their romance until the end of 2018.
It’s believed they parted ways for the second time because Gigi struggled to cope with Zayn’s “issues”.
However, the pair reconciled at the end of 2019, after Gigi decided to give him another chance.
At the time, an insider told E! News: “She has always loved him and the break between the two was needed. Zayn has been working on his past music and focusing on his health and is in a really good place currently.”
“Everyone is happy for them and Yolanda and Bella [Gigi’s sister] have always loved Zayn. They all have always treated him like part of the family.”
Months later, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child.
Their daughter Khai was born last September, and the family-of-three have been living at Gigi’s apartment in New York over the past year.
